Angkor site Package

To capture the perfect Angkor Wat temple,You will reach your destination, the main entrance to Angkor Wat and the west causeway at approximately at 8:00am. Angkor Wat is the centerpiece of all the temples of Angkor. Angkor Wat was built during the reign of King Suryawarman II in the form of a massive “temple mountain” dedicated to the Hindu God, Vishnu. Angkor Wat is quite an unconventional temple as it has westward orientation. This has led some to suggest it was constructed as King Suryavarman II’s funerary temple. Constructed: Early – Mid 12th century. Religion: Hindu

After the Angkor Wat next destination being the south gate of Angkor Thom. The trip continues to the Royal Palace, however before you enter the Royal Palace there is a view of the celestial palace Baphuon. The trip then continues with a walk around the elephant terrace which represents Mount Meru, the center of the Buddhist cosmos. This then brings you to the Bayon. There are 37 standing towers most connected to classis Khmer art and architecture, most but not all sporting four carved faces oriented toward the cardinal points. The best of Bayon are bas-reliefs on the exterior walls of the lower level and the upper level where the stone faces reside.                       Constructed: End of 12th century. Religion: Buddhist

Two last of the day the trip continues to Ta Phrom, one of the most popular temples at the park. Once home to 615 exquisite dancers, where the massive fig and silk cotton trees grow from the towers and corridors offering a ‘jungle atmosphere’ and one of the best ‘tree in temple’ experiences. Tha Phrom was originally constructed as a Buddhist monastery and was enormously wealthy in its time, boasting control over 3000 villages, thousands of support staff and vast stores of jewelry and gold.

On the way to the your hotel in town, we suggest a visit to Prasat Kravan; eastfacing towers containing unique bas reliefs of Vishnu and Lakshmi rendered in brick. This structure was constructed in the early 10th century during the reign of King Harshavarman I. Bantey Kdei will be the next destination; a spawling, largely unrestored Buddhist monastery built by King Jayavarman VII during his reign in the late 12th Century.

Constructed: End of 12th century. Religion: Buddhis.
